The monthly meetings begin with a general interest program, followed by small group discussions where members share their journeys and learn from each other. These small sharing groups -- the heart of PFLAG -- are designed for confidential sharing of concerns in a community of caring people who listen, learn and grow. Whether you are attending for the first time or are a regular attendee, you will find support from those who attend the small groups. Sometimes we nurture, sometimes we seek to be nurtured. In the small groups you will find that you always have a home in PFLAG!
A special straight spouse support group also meets during the small groups portion of the monthly meeting. The PFLAG-Houston Straight Spouse Support Group deals with the effects of a spouse's acknowledgment of a homosexual or bisexual orientation upon a once-traditional marriage. We discuss the complex and important issues associated with such a relationship. Our goal is to strengthen relationships so that they will be authentic, caring and responsible, no matter which path the couple has chosen.
After the meeting all are invited to gather at Cafe Express in the Museum of Fine Arts Beck Building, 5601 Main, 1/2 block south of the church. We enjoy delicious food, great conversation, and wonderful company!
PFLAG Houston holds mid-month discussion group meetings for our members who would like to meet more than once a month or are unable to attend our Sunday meetings. These groups will have a facilitator and focus on small-group sharing and discussion.
If you have questions about these or any of programs offered through PFLAG-Houston, please feel free to contact us.
