Pride 2007
Construction for the 2007 PFLAG Pride parade
float is underway! We are using a new technique from previous
PFLAG floats. Stop by, take a look and help a bit. The new and
improved PFLAG float has the same polished look as the corporate
floats we saw and admired at last year's parade.
Is it expensive or hard to do? Not at all! It is easy and fun to
decorate. We use plastic squares to create a pointillism effect
- much easier and less expensive (not to mention less messy)
than paint.
We will be working on panels for our float every day until the
parade on June 23. Call Sara (832-428-7463) if you would like to
work on Monday through Friday mornings or just show up Saturdays
from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center.
The community center is located at 3400 Montrose
Blvd, Suite 207. You can park in the parking garage at the rear
of the building off of Hawthorne Street. If you have a
glue gun, roller cutter, large self healing mat or scissors,
bring them along. For more information e-mail: pflagflyer@aol.com
or call Sara 832-428-7463.
