We're glad you found our web site

You might be a parent struggling to accept your gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender child.

You might be gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender and wondering how, or even if, you can tell your parents about your sexuality.

Whatever stage of the journey you are at, PFLAG Houston is here to support you.

The mission of PFLAG Houston is to

  • Support Families - working to keep families in loving relationships by helping them understand and affirm their gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender family members.
  • Educate the Public -  seeking to dispel the myths and misinformation by working with educators, community and religious groups, the media, and the general public.
  • Advocate for Equality - calling for equal human and civil rights.

PFLAG provides opportunities for dialog about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is respectful of human diversity.

Welcome to a web site that supports true family values. PFLAG (p-flag) is a worldwide, non-profit, volunteer and community-based organization of parents, family and friends of sexual minorities.  Founded in 1981 by 25 parents, PFLAG now represents more than 80,000 members and speaks for thousands of others.  PFLAG affiliates are located in over 485 communities in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and eleven other countries.  PFLAG is not affiliated with any ethnic, religious, economic or political group.  Our purpose is to provide confidential help to families and friends to understand sexual orientation and gender identity while helping to raise awareness and acceptance.
